the lovely bride.

The shitty mood I’m in right now does not at all reflect the great weekend I had. But I’m on a break from work. My back aches. Get it? Aches. My head is also pounding because my nose is runny and its tersumbat, you know. Tersumbat.

But I really had a good weekend. It even started on Friday afternoon during lunch, where I got myself a pretty pair of heels (since I forgot to bring mine along for the wedding. gile blessing in disguise). And that night after we got the cupcakes for the wedding, we went to Pappa Kopitiam for dinner.

I had loads of fun girls! And the hazelnut thingy is addictive. Saya mahu lagi!

The next morning, we pushed off from Jaja’s place at 6.30 after Subuh. I was surprised that we were both fresh and chirpy and happy though we slept around 2 the night before. And I know that Simba was super excited to have a guest around since he woke me up that night to ask me to play.

Met the rest of the group at Sungai Buloh Jejantas for breakfast and then we headed off to Penang.

Rempit okay. I don’t think I want to even think about the speed at which we were going. It was ridiculous and the thought of it right now makes me want to puke of fear. But Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely and on time (obviously) and managed to hand over the cupcakes to the proud wifey (solemnized just a few minutes before we arrived) and hanged around the area taking photos and whatnot.

Nasi Dalca is absolutely S.C.R.R.U.M.P.T.I.O.U.S.S.S.S.. I had 2 pieces of ayam masak merah and the nasi is just to die for! It was fantastic. We hanged around after eating and waited for the rombongan lelaki to arrive.

The whole thing was very traditional in the sense that there were kompang and menepung tawar sessions. I loved the kompang group who sang like they really, really enjoyed it, which made a lot of difference to the mood of the ceremony.

It was very simple actually. Weddings done at home are actually the best because they are the most personal and the most laidback.

Congratulations to Hunny who is now a wifey! I’m sure Pyan will take good care of you because he obviously loves you to bits and pieces :)

breathing lessons.

Finally, the change is final. And my initial reactions to it are… shock and confusion. Not that I am not trying to look at things positively, no, it’s just that some decisions are better not made. And I think that this case is one of it.

I don’t know why I like to get attached to things and people real fast. Though trust is not something I give very easily, bonding (once started) is something I have no problem dealing with. But one thing I know is that I have always hated departures. And this time, it’s tougher than I thought it would be.

I like to name things. I call my car my baby, my cameras Theodore and Pinko and I can’t recall a few other things I name and are deeply attached to. Like my rainbow-coloured bag which has since forever been my trusted travel partner.

And I can say that I am somewhat quite resistant to change, which could be very detrimental if I were to take it to a point of not needing change, let alone not wanting it.

I know I don’t make sense really, but do I really have to make sense?
My head is pounding so loudly against my skull I could cry.
All I want to do now is sleep.
And learn how to breathe a little bit. I really am in need of some breathing lessons. In, out, in out. Please don’t be so uptight.

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...........

erratic.

I hate today. I really do. And it’s not the work that I hate. I just hate the fact that everything in the Department is so unstable. I keep on hearing news, which I don’t want to know yet until and unless someone can confirm to me the authenticity. It’s unnerving. I hate instability. I hate rumours. I don’t like feeling like I don’t know when I should. I hate it. Hate it.

I also hate politics. But I’m in the Constitutional Unit. And everything about Legislative Assemblies are under the purview of my Unit. So, if you read the papers, you’d notice that there are alot of issues regarding that particular subject matter. I don’t like the subject matter, but I don’t have much choice. But I love learning, so learning is not an issue.

I just hate the yoyo-ish, seesaw-ish condition of our politics. My mom posed me a question which I don’t want to answer because I don’t know the answer to. “What do you want them to do so that you would like them?” I don’t know. People are just menyampah, faham? People are just plain tired of the present condition and situation of our politics, that I’m not surprised if we become like Thailand or Indonesia someday. (God Forbid)

They’ve got to do something to gain our trust. Something, anything. Just don’t wayang, please. People are not so stupid anymore.

I also hate the fact that some of my reactions to some things are just... inevitably obvious, no matter how much one person can’t see me. Sometimes, I feel so transparent the way my voice can give away my emotions. But I cannot help feeling things I feel sometimes, I’m only human.

I hate it that I feel like my weight is fluctuating. I know you’ve all got that smirk on your face at the moment but really, stop it. It’s not funny anymore. It’s like my weight is pulling tricks on me ever since I put in that 20 sen coin to weigh myself.

I hate it because I feel like a tako-tako tao on the small lidi they give along with the 3 ketul balls. I’ll take a picture of it next time I eat it okay.

I hate it that my mood is so erratic I feel like eating the jars of nougat that Auntie Chan from next door gave us as CNY presents. Or the oranges, which we finished in 2 days. Or something.

I don’t know why I always relate food and stress.

I’m so erratic, aren’t I?

Gah.

think.

-->I wonder.

Why do we always hate/don’t like people who have never done anything to us? Of course it’s human nature that we talk about some other random people, as wrong as that is, but I always wonder why we tend to not like people just because other people don’t really like that person.

Seriously.

This is a relatively short post as compared to the other 311 posts in this blog. I want everyone to think, if not answer.

Because I think we should feel bad when we hate/dislike someone even before we really know them.

I am missing Theodore terribly.

Jaizah, thank you for breakfast this morning. Saya seronok!

superlove meatloaded.

“Tiga ratus enam puluh tolak dua ratus enam puluh sama dengan berapa?”
“Seratus, cikgu!”
“Pandai.”

My darling Supergirls, we took 100 photos with Theodore and I haven’t counted the ones we took with Pinko. Now, tell me how am I supposed to choose which one to put on this blog? Because all pictures are random and nice and nice and it gets nicer and random-er and crazier and nicer.

I think you get what I mean.

But today was the best public holiday I had in years. Normally I would wake up late, sit on my bed, maybe get something to munch, stay in my room, read a book or just go online, but today, we decided to have a girls’ day out instead to appease our never ending love for food.

Okay, we were all craving for Daim Cake and Meatballs [ meatload, according to Eka ;p ].

Though we were out for more than half a day and by the time we got back we all had jelly legs, droopy eyes and unstrategic laughter (like that’s anything new at all), it was still a great day, nonetheless. These people always make me feel so young.

Did you know that window shopping in Ikea is so... liberating? I mean, I know that we’re all supposed to go there for bookshelves and shoe racks and whatnots and generally, people do have fun just getting fresh ideas from their displays.

But these girls make Ikea a whole new experience. Hehe. Buat macam rumah sendiri ye.
I haven’t transferred the photos yet. Theodore and Pinko are tired. [cover line sendiri tired]

I will do it soon, okay, girls!

February 01, 2009

she's our girl. but she's your Mrs.

It seems almost surreal. This is our Hood, girls. The opinionated girl who looks like she could conquer the world in a blink of an eye. The girl who says “I love you” without hesitation and the one whom you can easily slip into a conversation with even after a long absence. This is the girl who gives you the advice you need, at the time you need it the most. And this is the same girl, with whom I had a conversation about marriages with, just last year.

This morning, she officially became Mrs. Nik.

I’m lost for words.

It was a simple and beautiful ceremony, Alhamdulillah. All the girls were happy and chirpy and the bride was no less cheerful. But once one person’s dam broke, the rest of us couldn’t contain our tears anymore. This is our Hood, girls. And she is now somebody’s wife.

Don’t you think that that is just so... surreal?

Life moves on, and I guess we all move on with it as well.

I’m sure Hood knows that we all love her dearly, truly, deeply! I don’t know how many sloppy, teary kisses she got just now from us after her akad. She was just extremely beautiful!

And because of her well-known trait of wanting to be unique from others, the entire set up of the ceremony was just stunning. I loved everything from the dais to the food, down to the centrepieces.

Congratulations to our girl. We never thought you would be number 5, but you are.

And Nik, once you marry a green baju kurung girl, you (sort of) marry her friends as well. So good luck ;p. (nak bawak Hood keluar minum boleh, please?) hehe.

I’m happy for her BUT it all still seems surreal.

But I love her, and he makes her happy.

And for me, that is all a friend could ask for.

Congratulations, sayang!

Where do broken hearts go?

Pudu Plaza.

Say hello to Theodore, people! The new love of my heart!

But my heart is not broken, no I was just joking. In fact, the first thing YayaD said to me when she met me this morning was, “Kakak, you look happy and healthy and glowing!” [so, Encik, dibenarkan gloat sedikit ;p ].

Anyhow, despite all that rain and whatnot on Saturday, I brought my Encik and my “splendid” sense of direction into KL town. I only messaged Anak Boss about the location of Pudu Plaza and the YL Camera Shop when we were both drenched in cold, cold rain and I sensed that my feet was twice of its real size (akibat kembang masuk air).

So, yes, I have a new toy and it’s making me extremely happy. I’m very satisfied with the quality of photos I’ve taken and also the built of the camera itself. It’s still officially half Encik’s (because he foot (more than half) the bill!) but that’s okay because Theodore is with me, not him! Ahhh, bliss :)

I’ve learned the jargon, and now, I’m just going to put them to practice, which I’m actually taking some time with.

But here's a snippet:
